Frequently asked questions
Do I have to sell if the offer is low?
No, if the final price is below your reserve. If the reserve is met, the sale is certain.
What does the reserve price mean?
If the reserve is met, the highest bidder gets the vehicle. If not, the seller decides within 48 hours.
Can I sell a car the insurer has paid out for?
Yes, if the vehicle is registered in your name. If the insurer has taken over the vehicle, the insurer sells it.
Where is the vehicle during the auction?
With you. Buyers book a viewing through us; we do not put your phone number in the listing.
How does the payment work?
The buyer pays before collecting the vehicle. We agree the exact steps with you before the auction starts.
How is ownership transferred?
Seller and buyer register the change of owner in the Transport Administration e-service. The buyer pays the €71 state fee. We can help if needed.
Is there a registration fee or car tax?
The buyer pays the registration fee at the change of owner if it has not been paid for this vehicle before. The amount depends on CO₂ and mass; the vehicle page shows whether it has been paid. The annual tax is paid by whoever owned the vehicle on 1 January; the buyer pays it from the following year.
Can private persons buy?
Yes. Private persons and companies can take part, also from abroad.
